Smiles and sounds

Last weekend got away from me, so here's an update from the last two weeks.

*Miles is starting to figure out his new shape sorter, with a little help showing him where the blocks fit. His grasp amazes me when he feeds himself - he can pick up a tiny piece of shredded cheese. He can wave on demand (most of the time). He loves holding toys up to show me when we're playing or when I get home from work, saying "oooo" as if they're new every time. He loves dropping things right now - food goes on the floor instead of his mouth, and all of his toys end up on the other side of the baby gate.

*Miles is getting more adventurous when he moves: standing on his own up to 8 seconds, "jump" bridging between two surfaces by letting go with both hands, sprint crawling when he's excited about something, crawling over my lap when we play "chase mommy's phone." He got his first pair of shoes last weekend so we have something for his feet when we go out.

*Miles makes a "t" sound and can say "dada" very clearly. Most things he enjoys start with the letter "b," so pretty much everything is a ball or book right now. He has a helicopter toy on wheels and enjoys driving it. i started making a "vroom" sound when he pushes it forward yesterday, and he's doing it this morning... "rrrrr  rrrr  rrrr." Miles recognizes so many words. When we ask where the light is, he will point to all the lamps and fixtures around. He crawls to his push toy and starts walking when I say "walk." He holds his arms up for "so big" when we ask how big he is.

*Miles has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth right now, and the next 2 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth are making their way in. His favorite food right now is peas, but he will eat pretty much anything we have. He loves tacos, but decided avocados are no longer delicious.
