Miles learned some new skills this week. He waves (sorry for the bad video)!

Jared taught Miles how to play catch, which is the most adorable thing ever.

Miles is moving more every day! His new favorite activity is walking behind toys. He also learned to wave this week, which is the most adorable thing ever. He (kind of) says "book" and will go get his book when we tell him.

Pushing his toy all the way around the living room today. He actually started right by the edge of the couch, but I didn't get the camera out right away.

Croup

Miles's fever turned into croup this week. One of the other babies from our Portland gathering also had croup earlier this week, so we're guessing someone brought a sick baby to the children's museum. It's been a long week with lots of cuddles and some scary moments of coughing so hard that he couldn't breathe. He got a dose of steroids on Thursday, and should be feeling better any day now.

Miles started cruising along the couches this week and bridging between them. It's amazing how mobile he has become in the last few weeks!

Check up

Miles had his 9 month well-baby check up today. We had to re-schedule it from Friday because the doctor's office had no power from the storms.

Miles is 20 lb 10 oz and 28.5 inches. He is doing well according to the doctor. He's in about the 50th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. His pediatrician is happy with his milestones so far. Miles got another book from his pediatrician's office and we already read it twice. He loves reading books and having books read to him.

Miles had a fever last week, but it went away by the next morning. He had a fever again last night, and it's still here now. The pediatrician said if it's still here on Friday, Miles needs to come back in. I'm hoping it's just from him getting 4 of his top teeth at the same time. (That makes nights fun!)

Last day: 9 months 5 days (gave it back to my co-worker).

New things

Miles crawled to the couch and pulled to standing yesterday. Twice! 

He also has another word: ball. It sounds more like "ba" right now, but he's able to find his ball when we ask him and he says "ba" when we ask him to say "ball."

Miles found a new way to play with the jumperoo

We went for a short walk on Friday and saw some of the damage from the trees. One of our friends lost a car window to a tree branch on Thursday.

I didn't want to walk too far because branches were still falling all over.

Playing with his puppy. He's getting so good at being gentle with the cats, and now he gently pets his puppy and all of his other stuffed animals. So sweet!
